Brake pedal pad installation

Note: If you are not comfortable performing this installation procedure, please contact your local Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer for assistance.

1. Remove the old brake pedal pad from the pedal.

2. Lubricate the new pedal pad with a mixture of rosewater or soapy water in the area of the backside of the rear sides. Do not soak or submerge pad in water.

3. Slide the pad (1) on the pedal (2) from the lower part of the pedal upwards to the top, then work the pad sides over the pedal. Reach the rubber top part of the pad and pull the rubber over the pedal, all four sides of the rubber pad must be stretched over the steel pedal. A trim stick or screwdriver would aid in installation. Ensure that the top of the pad os fully seated past the pedal arm (3) and pedal.

NOTE: Firmly pull on the pedal pad to make sure that the pad will not come off in all directions, especially the downward direction.

WARNING: Failure to ensure that the pad is secure may result in the pad coming loose which may or could result in unsafe brake pedal application.

4. Using a mirror (4) look behind the brake pedal (2) to make sure that the pedal pad is completely seated (3) over the pedal. Use your finger to trace the rubber edge to confirm that the pad surrounds the pedal.

Gas pedal overlay installation

Note: If you are not comfortable performing this installation procedure, please contact your local Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer for assistance.

1. The gas pedal overlay has two sets of tabs, locking tabs (1) and holding tabs (2).

2. Install the gas pedal overlay pad (2) with the holding tabs locked under the left side of the gas pedal (1), then rotate the overlay (2) toward the right side of the pedal (4) while applying pressure to the top and bottom to seat the locking tabs (3) in place under the back side of the pedal (4).

3. Using a mirror look behind the gas pedal (4) to make sure that the overlay (2) is locked into place by the locking tabs (3).

NOTE: Firmly pull on the pedal overlay to make sure that the pad will not come off.

WARNING: Failure to ensure that the pad is secure may result in the pad coming loose which may or could result in unsafe gas pedal application.
